Refund Policy for Insufficient Skill Levels or Fitness Levels
Overview
At Packrafting NZ, the safety and satisfaction of our customers are our highest priorities. We have established this refund policy to clearly outline the conditions under which refunds or rebooking options are available for participants who do not meet the required fitness or skill levels for our expeditions.
Fitness Levels and Pre-existing Injuries
- Insufficient Fitness Levels or Pre-existing Injuries (not disclosed to Packrafting NZ staff): If the lead instructor or expedition leader determines that a participant is not fit enough or that a previously undisclosed injury prevents safe participation in the planned expedition, no refund will be provided.
- Rebooking Option: Participants may opt to rebook onto a different departure. A rebooking fee of $1500 may apply.
Skill Levels After Training
- Additional Training Required: If the instructor believes that a few extra days of training will enable the participant to meet the required skill levels, we will rebook the participant onto a different departure at no additional rebooking fee. The participant will, however, be placed on a waiting list.
- Insufficient Skill Levels Post-Training: If extra training is deemed insufficient by the instructor:
- Participants may choose a different product.
- A partial refund may be offered.
Decision-Making Process
All decisions regarding fitness and skill levels are made in consultation with the participant and with the overall safety of the group in mind. To avoid any disappointment, we encourage participants to be honest about their fitness and skill levels.
Honesty and Communication
We strive to provide the best experience possible and encourage open communication. Please inform us of any concerns or conditions that may affect your participation so that we can make the necessary accommodations.
