We are proud to be running the only crash course in Packrafting skills and safety in New Zealand again this year. Packrafting is becoming incredibly popular, we understand it, it is the most amazing sport! We spend most of our time showing our guests our stunning area and I have to admit we get to see some pretty dicey packrafting skills out on the water!
Our aim, along with the Packrafting Association of New Zealand (PRANZ) is to ensure the safety of packrafters in New Zealand. So, if you are new to the sport of packrafting or have found yourself in a sticky situation sign up for our crash course and make sure you stay safe on the water!
Our crash course covers a huge array of Packrafting water skills, from paddle strokes to self-rescue, to companion rescue and more. PRANZ strongly encourages newcomers to packrafting to get themselves on a professional course to help keep them aware and safe on the water.
The course is run over 2 days at Mavora Lakes. We are working on running a course in the Christchurch area on the 14th & 15th April - watch this space for more information!
Each course has two qualified and very experienced instructors, this allows us to split the group to cater to individual levels of skill and knowledge. There are as always a few prerequisites - you will need to have an adequate fitness level, be able to swim, have a desire to learn something new and of course, the mandatory, sense of adventure!
All the dates and details of our courses can be found on our website - simply follow this link. If you can’t find what you’re looking for or need to know more feel free to drop us an email or give us a call. We are always happy to talk about packrafting!
